Cookie Policy

Vidiyo uses first-party cookies and a small amount of browser storage (localStorage) to run the Service and, if you agree, to measure how the site is used. This page lists everything we store in your browser and how to control it.

Strictly necessary

These keep you signed in and remember your consent choice. They cannot be disabled.

• vidiyo_session: cookie holding your sign-in session. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Expires when your session ends or you sign out.
• vidiyo_profile and vidiyo_profile_activation: session cookies selecting your viewer profile and rejecting requests from a superseded activation. They are cleared on known sign-in/sign-out changes.
• vdy.cookie_consent: localStorage entry recording your choice on the cookie banner. Kept until you clear site data.
• vidiyo_consent: cookie recording your choice on the privacy prompt (opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for ads). Kept for one year. Change it at /settings/privacy.

Functional preferences

These remember playback, referral, and interface preferences on this device. They are first party. They are not sent to Google.

• vidiyo_ref: cookie with a share referral code from a short link, used once at sign-up so we can credit the person who shared with you.
• vidiyo_acq: cookie with first-touch landing path, referrer host, and campaign parameters from your first visit. We send it with your sign-up request and store it on your account. It is not sent to Google. 90 days, Path=/, SameSite=Lax.
• vidiyo:sound-on: whether you unmuted the player.
• vidiyo:guide:last-watched:v2:: the last explicitly selected channel, scoped to the resolved brand, account and active profile, so the guide can resume there.
• vdy:vod-resume:v2:: brand-scoped anonymous playback progress on this device. Signed-in viewers use profile-scoped server history instead.
• vidiyo-experience-v2: IndexedDB storage for bounded layout bodies, recovery journals and failure markers. It helps the app recover safely after an update; it contains no catalog, private viewing history or advertising identifier.
• vdy:chat-hidden: whether you hid the live chat panel.
• vdy-launch-checklist-v1: your progress in the channel launch checklist tool.

App reliability

First-party app update reports identify the app build and layout version and whether an update was fetched, activated, confirmed or rejected. We keep these operational diagnostics for 90 days to recover from errors and deliver safe updates. They are separate from Google Analytics and advertising identifiers.

Analytics

We measure plays, ad impressions, and errors with server-side events tied to the playback session. Separately, production web pages load Google Analytics 4 under Consent Mode. Until you choose Accept all, analytics storage stays denied and GA only receives cookieless pings. Accept all grants analytics cookies. Essential only keeps them denied. We set GA User-ID only after Accept all. We do not use Google ads features.

Advertising

Ads on Vidiyo are stitched into the video server-side with server-side frequency capping, and we do not participate in cross-site behavioural advertising. On our public marketing pages we load the Adwave measurement tag, which counts visits and sign-ups that come from Vidiyo's own advertising campaigns.

How to control this

Use the cookie banner to record your preference, or clear site data in your browser at any time. Clearing site data signs you out and resets your saved preferences. If we add a category of storage that is not strictly necessary or functional, we will update this page and ask for consent first.
